  • What are BOTOX & Dysport?
BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport are injectables that uses botulinum toxin type A (OnabotulinumtoxinA) to temporarily reduce or eliminate facial fine lines and wrinkles. The FDA has approved the use of Botox® for frown lines and crow's feet, while Dysport® is approved for frown lines. It is the most widely researched and studied treatment.
  • What do Botox and Dysport treat?
At CosmeticsMD, we commonly use Botox and Dysport to treat: Frown lines (aka “11s” / glabellar lines) Forehead creases Crow's feet near the eyes Gummy smiles Facial asymmetries Lip flips (with or without dermal filler) Face slimming Dimpled chins Symptoms and swelling due to TMJ
  • When should I start using Botox or Dysport?
Botox is FDA approved for women and men 18 years and older. We recommend starting treatments in your late 20s and early 30s.
  • How quickly can I get a Botox Treatment?
We can often schedule clients within a few days of requesting an appointment, and can treat them on the same day. We try our best to accommodate our client’s busy schedules.
  • How much does a Botox or Dysport treatment cost?
The total cost of a Botox or Dysport is based on the number of units injected. Treatment varies by client and depends on your facial anatomy and desired result. Our experienced injectors will consult with you prior to your treatment to recommend the proper dose to help you achieve your goals. We specialize in providing our clients with a natural look (your face won't look frozen!) The enjoy savings at every visit, we recommend signing up for one of our membership programs as well as reregistering for Alle (Botox) or Aspire (Dysport) to earn points on your treatments.

Botox and Dysport are made of a purified protein that works by preventing your facial muscles from contracting by temporarily blocking the nerve signals. Because the muscles are relaxed, wrinkles are reduced.
  • Can Botox and Dysport be used with other treatments?
YES! To improve and extend your results, we recommend combining BOTOX with other cosmetic skin procedures including chemical peels, IPL, dermal fillers, SkinPen microneedling, HydraFacials, and DiamondGlows. You can even have BOTOX added to an Aquagold facial to tighten pores and improve the appearance of reds in the skin [link to internal pages]. We also love to pair it with SkinMedica’s TNS Advanced+ serum, and/or a vitamin C and E serum, and a retinol and medical-grade SPF to use at home.
  • How do I save money on Botox or Dysport treatments?
Be very careful of ads for “cheap” BOTOX, “faux-tox” – they are not as effective at best, and at worst can be very dangerous, causing paralysis, botulism poisoning, facial drooping, and infection. The best way to save money on your treatments is to enroll in Allē or Aspire, loyalty programs where you can earn points and rewards for savings on future treatments including… You can also become a Rose Gold member, where you can save 15% on every BOTOX treatment as well as enjoy other other member discounts and perks. Common Myths About GLP-1 Therapy Debunked

When it comes to dermal fillers, misinformation and myths can create unnecessary fear and confusion. At CosmeticsMD, we believe in providing our patients with accurate information to help them make informed decisions about their treatments. Here, we debunk some of the most common myths related to GLP-1s.

While GLP-1 medications like Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are commonly used to manage Type 2 diabetes, they are also approved for weight loss in individuals without diabetes. These medications help regulate appetite, promote satiety, and support healthy weight loss in a wide range of patients.

Myth 1: GLP-1 Therapy is Only for People with Diabetes

41-web-or-mls-DSC00317-2.jpg

GLP-1 therapies are FDA-approved and have been extensively studied for both safety and efficacy. While there can be side effects, they are typically mild and manageable. At CosmeticsMD, our board-certified physicians closely monitor your progress to ensure your safety and adjust your treatment as necessary.

Myth 2: GLP-1 Therapy is Unsafe

Some people may experience mild gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, or constipation, especially when starting treatment. These symptoms often improve over time as your body adjusts to the medication. Our medical team at CosmeticsMD provides guidance on managing any side effects to ensure a comfortable treatment experience.

Myth 3: GLP-1 Medications Cause Severe Gastrointestinal Issues

41-web-or-mls-DSC00317-2.jpg

GLP-1 medications are designed to support long-term weight management. Studies show that patients who continue with their prescribed GLP-1 therapy and make lifestyle changes can maintain significant weight loss over time. Our membership plans at CosmeticsMD include ongoing support to help you sustain your results.

Myth 4: You Can't Maintain Weight Loss with GLP-1 Therapy

41-web-or-mls-DSC00317-2.jpg

GLP-1 therapy is not a magic bullet; it works best when combined with healthy lifestyle changes such as diet and exercise. At CosmeticsMD, we provide comprehensive support to help you achieve and maintain your weight loss goals.

Myth 5: GLP-1 Therapy is a Quick Fix

41-web-or-mls-DSC00317-2.jpg

While the cost of GLP-1 medications can be a concern, CosmeticsMD offers membership plans that provide cost-effective access to these treatments. Our memberships also include discounts on cosmetic treatments to address skin laxity, wrinkles, and lower muscle mass, as well as B12 shots, ensuring you get the best value for your investment in your health.

Myth 6: GLP-1 Therapy is Too Expensive

41-web-or-mls-DSC00317-2.jpg

GLP-1 therapy is not suitable for everyone. Individuals with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma, multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2, severe gastrointestinal disease, or pancreatitis may not be candidates for this treatment. Our providers at CosmeticsMD will review your medical history to determine if GLP-1 therapy is right for you.
